I got to Flat Rock today, and I can already tell that I am really going to like it here.
I have two suit mates.... I guess that's what you would call them, it a strange dorm set up but I like it. Anyways their names are Tressa and Cindy. They are the Paint and Costume interns respectively. There are two other interns who are male and that it. There are only 5 of us in one building. The guys live down stairs.
Everyone here seems really friendly and laid back. Not that everyone wasn't at Interlochen but this place just has a differnt feel to it.
I still have no clue as to what I am really doing here. Or how the hell I ended up at and education intern but such is life. The kids don't actually get here till next week so for now I guess its just a prep week. I guess I'll find out at 10 am tomorrow morning when I report to work.
I turn 21 on Wednesday. Normally this would be a very exciting thing. But seeing as I am hours away from just about everyone that I would like to spend this day with it kinda blows. But my aunt is going to take me out to dinner and I am hanging out with people here tomorrow so maybe I'll find some people to go out with on my birthday. AJ says that he will try his best to come up here and I really hope he can. Josh is also going to try and make a visit.
This is looking like a promising summer. I guess we will see.

70 Days
I leave in the morning to head for North Carolina. My mom and I will be spending tomorrow with my family that lives there which is always an interesting but fun experience. Then Sunday at 4 I will be at Flat Rock for my orientation.
I will be 286 miles away from home this summer. Not nearly as far as last, but still far. I want to be with my friends right now, to give them a hug and make them feel better. But I know that this job was the right decision for me. The school year is always so stressful that I need to get away from it all.
All in all I will be gone for 70 days. Which is a good two weeks longer than last year, eek. But the fresh start will be worth it.
I don't know how long it will be until I have the internet up there. Could be as soon as Sunday, or it could be a few weeks. So obviously my updates will be few and far between. I will miss everyone so much.
Just remember cell phones work both ways, and hearing a voice from home always makes my day.

Thinking back on it all.
This semester has been one of the most stressful semesters since I have been in college. But it has also been one of the best semesters. just a quick overview.
I did Reefer Madness, got a tattoo, survived thespian conference, had a snow day, got to have a stress free spring break, was in a contemporary ballet, did well in my last semester of acting, was in Once On This Island, got cast in two shows for the fall, lived through a horrible tornado ripping through downtown, made the APO Slide show, was in half of the dances for Dance Extravganza, Lost one of the most amazing people I have ever been blessed to know, I have gained friendships, struggled with others, moved into a new apartment and meet an amazing new guy.
Through all of the stress and bad things a lot of good has come out of this semester. And now I get to start a new chapter, a new internship, a new start.
