Day Sixty-Two

End of this week of camp.
The morning show actually went really well. Some parents where really catty though, I hate that. I then ran to get some food. Everywhere was full! I was so pissed I just wanted to eat. But I did finally get some food so thats good. I then went back to the second camp. I love that we did a new show this week because its actually entertaining to watch. They did an awesome job, I was so proud! I didn't have a lot of work to do when I left so I got to leave pretty much right after work.

Right after work I left to go hang out with my Aunt and Uncle. I helped them clean up a little bit because they are hosting an archery tournament on Saturday and Sunday. I then walked around the the course with my aunt witch was really cool because I go to see almost all of our family land, and man is there a lot of it! I then called my Aunt Judy and walked over to go see her. We ended up talking on the porch for almost two hours. Which is funny because its something I never thought we would be able to do. I am going back up there tomorrow night for dinner :)

I came home in time to get ready for midnight studio. It was my last one which is really sad. But we all had a really good time.Fire pit after wards, drinking, hanging out, good times with friends and lots of texting ppl on my end. All though I did fall asleep right in the middle of a text conversation with Mike haha oh well.

Day Sixty-One

Easy morning.... sort of.
It was a Rootabaga! Stories day. The hike to and from was uneventful. It was once we got back that we had problems. One of our little girls found a worm. She decided that the worm was her new friend and that she was going to keep the worm. She then burst out into tears when Claire and I told her that she could not have the worm and had to put it back. She almost didn't rehearse the show because she was so upset. And let me tell you there is no reasoning with 5 year olds.

Afternoon camp was same old same old. Did find out that blind deaf old women carry camel repellent in their purses in case of a camel attack on an Africa safari. But really that was about it.

Work after was stressful. The copier was not being my friend but in the end I got it all worked out. Teressa and I went on our walk after dinner. I like our little walk. Then she and I went over to the education center where I proceeded to steal their broadway soundtracks.

Tomorrow is my last day with Charles which I am very excited about. I think next week is just going to fly by. I still can't believe that its my last week.

Day Sixty AKA the day Robin comes home!

Today was a challenging day to say the least.
Morning campers didn't know there lines.
They couldn't remember most of their blocking.
They didn't really want to listen to any of us today.
It doesn't help that both Tania and I are so ready for camps to be over.
Afternoon camp was kind of boring for me today.
They where blocking the show. And then ran the show.
Since I am not in the show there wasn't really anything for me to do.
Luckily there wasn't a lot of office work this afternoon either though.

I decided that I needed to get back on a running schedule today. I haven't run in about a week. Running after you eat spaghetti and a Klondike bar, not the best idea. But add the fact that I wore a hoodie to run in, made it worse. I almost threw up. But after I cooled down a bit I was able to finish my work out and then even went on a walk with Teressa.

I got to talk on the phone with Robin today!!!! She is back in GA :) I'm so excited that I get to see her in about a week and a half. The three roommates will be reunited and much fun will be had.

Day Fifty-Nine

Today was a pretty laid back today.
Morning camp was blocking the show today. I didn't have anything to do while they where blocking the show so I drew a wedding dress. Its really the only thing I know how to draw. After lunch it was on to the afternoon class. They got their scripts today and when I showed up they where finding out which parts they where getting. Then it was on to playing a few theatre games before we sent them home for the day. Work after camp wasn't bad. Found out that I didn't have to move all the stuff down stairs. So all I really had to do was download a video onto a disk for Charles and I got to go home.

I only have 11 days left here on the rock. Its so strange because I feel like I am still just getting started at times. I have learned more this summer than I did last. I like how this summer has worked out in many different ways. I have been really happy this summer. I hate how somethings have worked themselves out but really its for the best. When someone stops caring about you it will only bring you pain to try and hold on to what is not there. I am already getting stressed about the up coming semester. I have a lot on my plate and I just hope that can find time to do it all well.

Day Fifty-Eight

It was another long day.
We have 11 kids in my morning class this week. 11! It doesn't seem like that many until you realize that 5 of them are rising 1st graders, and they can't read. It took us forever to get through reading the script for the first time today! But for the most part they seem like a good group of kids and I am excited to work with them. And it also helps that we have a helper.

I went to lunch again today. But they don't feed us on Mondays.... fail.

Afternoon camp only has 6 people in it. Talk about the complete opposite problem that we have from the morning. Its almost not enough kids. For the most part they seem like a good group. We have one boy who is going to test my nerves all week but I think it will be ok.

I have a nice big project to take care of this week. I have to move a lot of boxes from upstairs to a closet downstairs. This of course is made harder by the fact that we don't have an elevator. Joy.

After work I was planning on skipping my nap so I could go to bed really early since I was really tired. This did not happen. I feel asleep. I woke up with my dinner alarm. Apparently called Josh. And went back to sleep. I woke up an hour later to a voice mail asking why I called, opps. After eating some dinner Cindy and I decided to go and see HPB again. Yes we know we are dorks. It was fun though because there weren't a lot of people there so we could talk a little about the parts that confused us haha.

Day Fifty-Six and Fifty-Seven

Columbus Weekend!

Friday after the show Josh came over to get ready so we could go hang out at Gus's. I got to see even more people that I haven't seen all summer which was amazing. We only stayed for about two hours because it was getting pretty late. I was suppose to sleep in on Saturday but that didn't happen. I woke up at 8 am. Why? Because my body decided that it was a good idea. Josh had spent the night since he has family in town an there for has no place to sleep. So at 11 I went into the room that he was sleeping in and told him that he had to wake up because I was bored and hungry. We went out to lunch and then came back to the apartment and hung out for a while. He had to leave to go to his mom's citizenship party. My mom showed up right as Josh was leaving. Tori, Janine, my mom and I went to get them food since Tori had not eaten lunch yet. Janine then had to leave to go and get ready for the show but Tori, my mom and went shopping. Really less of shopping and more walking around the stores. We got back and Tori and I decided to go to the mall to see if they had any corsets. I mean we where going to see Rocky Horror, might as well look the part right. Well they didn't have any but I did get a dress for the show. Speaking of the show. It was such a good show! I was so proud of all of my friends. There hard work really paid off :) After the show we all went out to Ihop to get something to eat. Then Josh Tori and I went over to Zac's house since he was having a moving in party.

We where going to go to church this morning but my mom decided to let us sleep instead. We did all go out to lunch though before everyone left. We got up at 10 and had 3 people showered, dressed and out the door before 11. Lunch at Chilies then a quick trip to Wal-Mart and that was all she wrote about my time in Columbus. the plan was for me to take a nap and then get on the road. The nap didn't happen. So i got on the road an hour or so earlier than I was planning. I got here and realized that I left my bag with all of my makeup and a few other things in it in Columbus. Oh well I guess I will have to live without it for the next two weeks.

I had a great weekend. And it makes me want to be back in Columbus for good now. I know that I have two more weeks here and I am not going to wish them away. Because this has been a great summer. One of the bests that I have had in years.

Day Fifty-Five

Its official, I survived a week of teaching by myself!
Even though I didn't think it was going to happen, the show went great! The parents loved it and I was so very proud. :)

After lunch I got back to the office 30ish mins early. I then cleaned up the set, and made my way back upstairs. After running to Ingles to pick up some more ice pops Charles let me go home. Thank GOD! Because it took me 5 hours to get to Columbus. I got to the theatre just as everyone was showing up. I got picked up 4 times and got jumped on once. It was so good to see everyone!!! Since I am going to see the show tomorrow, I came home. God I missed my apartment. Now I am just waiting for everyone to get out of the show.... story of my life this summer.

Day Fifty-Four

Rootabaga! Stories day.

So this whole week the bridge has been out because they are painting it. This bridge is the fastest way to get to the path to get up the mountain to see the play.So today I had to take the kids around the lake and decided that it would be faster to go up the hill that I often run/walk. Of course one thing I did not really think about is the fact that this hill is extremely steep. 9 kids all 10 and under and a very steep hill is not a very good combination. But none the less we did make it up the hill in plenty of time to see the show. The kids where really excited to get ice pops like always. We then got to run the show in the Blue Room, which turns out to be a very good thing since its not looking like we will be able to tomorrow.

I had a long list of things to do when I got back to the office. Charles decided that part of my intern duties included figuring out how to work electronics. It was not something I really wanted to do. But it was ok because I did figure it out. I finished everything up and got to go home before four. Granted I did have to go back after dinner. There was a camp going on until 5 so I couldn't sweep and mop the blue room or move my set to the green room until after they had gone home.

Rocky opens tonight and I wish that I could be there. But I will see it soon.

This summer has seemed to go by so much faster than last. I guess that's whats happens when you actually like your job. And even though I can't believe that I have been up here for two months, at the same time I am so very ready to be back in Columbus. I am ready to get back to my friends and family. I am ready to get back to being an actress. Its the first year since I started college that I am not afraid to go home. I don't have all these demons waiting for me when I get back. I have love and friendship and the hope of a wonderful future. Who could ask for more.

Day Fifty-Three

Today started off horribly.
I went out to my car this morning praying that it would start. It didn't. So I called my Aunt Linda and asked if there was any way they could come and look at it. Thank God that they could. But without a whole lot of time to dwell on that I had to get to work. The kids where just as hyper as ever but I think that we got a lot done today. Granted it was made a lot harder by the fact that my assistant didn't show up to work. For the first time the kids loved their costumes!! That made my day so much better. We ran the show 3 times and I think that we are going to do really well on Friday.

After lunch I showed up to the office only to find that Charles had gone to the sharing at the Green River Preserve and I had a list of things to do. They were all pretty simple tasks and I got everything done before 3. Which turned out in my favor since my Aunt and Uncle showed up on time! Who would have guessed. Turns out, Thank God, that it was just the battery. So one trip to the auto parts store and 85 dollars later my car is working just fine.

There is the opening night party tonight but its not on lot, so I think I may not be going. Oh well. Rootabaga! Stories tomorrow. Fun will ensue.

Day Fifty-Two

Blocking all by myself.
It only took 30 mins to block the show which isn't bad, and I think the kids get it for the most part.
I didn't a have a whole lot to do after lunch today. I got to leave at 2... I get there at 1.
After dinner Teressa and I hiked up the mountain. Round trip 3 miles. Good hike. When we got back we went to Ingles b/c I needed gas. We tried to drive away after getting gas but my car didn't want to start.FAIL. So luckily a nice man jumped my car for me. I'm going to have someone look at it tomorrow lets pray its just the battery cables and not the alternator. If I don't get to go out of town this weekend I am going to be so pissed.

In other news, I have been giving some serious thought to grad school lately. MFA in musical theatre. School I am looking into, Boston Conservatory.Who would have thought it, me in Boston. It looks like a really good school. Part of me really doesn't want to go though. The other part of me knows its a good idea. Who knows. I'm too stressed to think about it right now.

Day Fifty-One

My first day as a teacher.
Talk about scary.

I have a good group of kids. They are rambunctious and loud but hey they are kids and they are in the end a great group of them. I don't know what it is about my assistent Heath but every time he helps me out the kids want to hurt him. Oh well. After lunch I walked back to the education center only to find out that I had been locked out of the building. Luckily Dave showed up not long after me so I was able to get in and do my work. I only had to work till 3:30 so thats nice.

I got home and talked to Josh for a while since he is in tech tonight for Rocky Horror. I then went and hung out with Teressa until dinner. Ryan's car decided to shit itself and then attack him went he ran out of it and tried to run around to the front but he hit the door.... yeah. When we got back from Ingels to get Ryan some ice cream Teressa and went on a hike. Then decided the watermelon that has been in our fridge since the 4th needed to be eaten. Good thing it hadn't gone bad yet :) Then it was the three of us eating ice cream and talking. Its been a long day but I'm just ready for it to be Friday. .... :)

Day Fifty

Lazy Sunday.

Went to lunch which was once again grits which means after my trip to Wal-Mart I also grabbed something else to eat.

Went into the office to do a little work. Talked to Josh then took a 2 and a half hour nap.Went to dinner. High lighted my kids scripts and am now watching a movie. Lazy day indeed.

Day Forty-Nine

I woke up way too early for a day that I didn't have to work. 8:30 am came and I was not happy about it. But none the less I made my way to Nanahla Rive to go rafting with my church. I got there about an hour and a half before them because they left late so I just sat in my car and read and listened to music. I ended up being in a raft full of high school freshmen who had no attention span for paddling the raft. This is why my arms feel like they are about to fall off right now.

After I got back I ate some dinner then went for a run. Then Teressa and I went and Saw A Perfect Wedding. Right now strike/change over is going on all around me. Once again it is strange to see and hear this happening while I am not helping.

I plan on sleeping a lot tomorrow and getting everything ready for camp. YIKES!

Friday, July 17, 2009

Day Forty-Eight

3 shows one day.

Morning show went ok. We still had some problems with one of our kids not paying attention but in the end the show looked good and of course the parents loved it.

I didn't actually help out with clown camp but I wanted to see the show. Which I guess was good that I did b/c Jeff had me take pictures for him.

I didn't get to leave for lunch until 1, but I was back by 1:30 go me!

Afternoon camp's show went much better than I thought it was going to. Everyone remembered their lines!!!

After work it was back to the office. I'm really starting to dislike that part. Charles just puts me in a bad mood. But I guess there is always something people don't like about their job and in my case the good definitely out weighs the bad.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Day Forty-Seven

Waking up today was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Staying awake didn't prove to be much easier.

The actors have the week off so we didn't go and see Rootabaga! Stories today. Of course Lauren and I didn't find that out until yesterday afternoon. So we came up with plan B. We did a line through of the show. Then we took them on a tour of the lot. It was really cute watching them walk around the stage and being so excited to see everything. Our I had to pick up our littlest Stella so that she could actually see some of the stuff because the older kids where all standing in front of her. When we got back to the Education center we watched the original Cat In The Hat movie. So trippy!! Then we watched the first 20 minutes of Charlotte's Web before going down stairs and running through the show once before the kids had to leave.

By the time I got back to the camp I had to change right into costume so we could run the show for a guy from the news paper. We then took the kids upstairs to play some games. We where playing harassment circle when our high school assistant was in the middle of the circle one of our campers walked up to her and said "mom I'm pregnant". Katie then yelled " Haven't you ever heard of a condom?!" We quickly sent someone else into the circle and she didn't go back in that round. After class let out Katie went up to her and apologize and she said "its ok. I didn't even know what that thing you said is"..... How the 12 year old who is going into the 7th grade didn't know what a condom was I will never know. We are just hoping that she doesn't go home and ask her mom some questions.ha.

I took my normal nap after work today. Only this time I didn't want to wake up when my alarm told me to. Which meant I slept through dinner... opps. Oh well. At least we got paid today.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Day Forty-Six

HARRY POTTER!!!

Yeah so we went to the midnight premier last night. I really enjoyed the movie. I know I am a nerd but I don't care.

Since I did go to the midnight show this meant I only got 4 hours of sleep last night. What this means is Brittain went to Starbucks this morning in order to make it through today. Pepermint mocha in hand I had to go and check in with Charles this morning. Of course I thought I had done something horribly wrong, I mean why else would he call me into his office at 845 this morning. But no, he just wanted to know how my list of things to do this week was coming along, thank God. Morning camp went well. The kids remembered their blocking, for the most part. And everyone was memorized.... they just didn't always know when to come in. Plus the day they get their costumes is also fun. We had popsicle day early this week which I was totally cool with :).

After noon camp was blocking the show today. Went smoothly enough from what I could tell. By the time I got there we only had about 3 pages left to block. We then ran the show, played some games, ran the show again and then it was time to go home. Today was ask Brittain a million questions day. They started asking me about my tattoo. Then they wanted to play with my belt that I was wearing over my dress. Then they wanted to know where I bought all my clothes that I was wearing that day. It was entertaining to say the least.

After camp was not so much fun. Dusty and I pulled some costumes which wasn't bad. Then I had to change the marque. Then I had to continue to copy the binders from the library. Luckily Charles came to check on my progress. He didn't realize how many binders there where, so he told me I only had to copy 5 of them. Thank you Jesus!! I finally left work around 5:30.

While I was leaving dinner tonight Jim, our cook, called me over. I taught three of his grand kids my second week. He was telling me about his granddaughter who lives in Atlanta who is doing a theatre camp there. And telling me how the kids talk about me and how much they loved camp. Then he thanked me for everything I do up at the camp. I am not in this job for the recognition, at all but hearing that really made my day. Its great to know that I had a hand in helping a kid find a love for theatre.

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Day Forty-Five

Blocking didn't take nearly as long as it normally does. Even though the kids thought it took forever.ha. They went a little crazy at snack break today but it wasn't anything that was too crazy. And I did get to hear one of the little boys say " Don't hurt the moth! We have to save the environment!" Got to love little kids.

I got the the Day camp just in time to catch the end of "casting". Both Katie, the high school assistant, and I have to be in the play this week do to lack of kids. We got to do skeleton scenes today. In my first scene my partner was my mom and my dog just died. When the kids where guessing they thought that my boyfriend had just broken up with me and that my partner was comforting me. When they started to guess that someone died Dusty asked them to decided which one they thought it was. One girls logic was that it doesn't hurt to be broken up with and I looked hurt. Obliviously this girl has never been dumbed.

After camp I saw that I had some new things added to my to-do list. This of course included copying some binders. All 15 of them. I got 4 done today and it took me about an hour and a half to do.

I am starting to get stressed about next week. I am so afraid to teach by myself. Even though I know that I am ready. And I know that I am going to ddo a good job, I am still nervous about it.

Harry Potter tonight at Midnight. Supper excited!

Monday, July 13, 2009

Day Forty-Four

I don't like waking up early.
I had to be at work an hour earlier than normal today.
Not my idea of a good way to start off the week but oh well.

My morning campers are going to be great. They seemed really excited about the play and just energetic in general. We have one little girl named Stella who is adorable! I just really hope that she wont be too shy to actually say her lines.

The afternoon camp is all girls. That is going to be interesting. All we did today was play theatre games which was a lot of fun. Played the most intense game of bibbity bibbiy bop ever! We could not stop laughing it was great. Zip Zap Zop was almost as bad. Pretty much one of my favorite days of camp thus far.

Sunday, July 12, 2009

Day Forty-Two and Three

Saturday morning Josh and I woke up around 9:30 so we could go see Rootabaga! stories. Yes this makes the 5th time that I have seen it this summer. We ended up walking around there a little while, went up to see the goats and such. One goat almost ran straight into Josh while we where walking around. Then we walked down the road to the Wrinkled Egg to get some lunch. They have really good pizza! Once we got back to my place we changed our clothes and started on the adventure to Sliding Rock. We got lost a few times but we manged to find our way there. Of course it started to rain pretty much as soon as we got there but we didn't care. I mean we where about to slide down a rock into freezing cold water, whats a little rain? The water was take your breath away cold but it was still a lot of fun. Plus I was much warmer once I got out of the water. After coming back home and taking showers we went out to a German restaurant for dinner. I just let Josh order since I don't know German food, at all and he lived there for two years. Then we ended up back at Carl Sandburg's to walk around the lake for a little while. Later that night we went to the back room. There was a band playing which I forgot they do on Saturday nights. They actually weren't that bad. So we stayed there for a while and drank and had a good time. While we where sitting there Josh kept looking over at me and then saying no I can't. So as you could guess I was more than a little confused. Once I finally convinced him to tell me what ever it was he was thinking about, he told me that he Loved me :D. I have never had anyone I was dating tell me that before. I couldn't stop smiling the whole night.

This morning we where really lazy and didn't end up leaving my apartment until after 12. Got some lunch, went to Wal-Mart and came back here. Then it was time for him to head back to Columbus, since he has work at 6 am.

This was one of the best weekends that I have had in recent memory and I really didn't want it to end. But Life has to get back to normal. But I am still smiling :D

Day Fourty-One

So as I said yesterday I got off really early. Which was great because I wasn't dead tired from work when Josh showed up :) We went out to dinner with Cindy and two of her friends for Cindy's 19th birthday at El Paso. Then came back here and hung out for a while. Lots of fun.

Today we played a lot of games at camp. These kids had a lot of energy and it was the best pre-show thing to do for them. We almost didn't even have the doors open until 12 which was funny since we normally have the doors open by 11:40 at the latest. The show went well. One girl refused to wear her hat but at least she went on since she wast the girl who almost didn't last week. Then I had three others who freaked out on me right before they had to go on stage. But luck for me all it took was a smile and a you are going to do great to get them on stage.

Work today wasn't awful. Not a whole lot to do. And at 3 I had to go help pick up the mats but Charles let Josh come with us for that so that was nice. Once we got back it was time for me to go. Although I did find out that I have to be at work at 8 am on Monday to help set up for clown camp. Oh boy! Oh well its the only time this summer I will have to be in that early so I can deal with that.

After work I took a nap b/c I was beat. Then we drove around to find something to eat. We decided to go walk around main street since I didn't want to go back to lot just yet. Turns out there was a classic car thing going on so that was cool. And we got a root beer float, yummm. And now we are just killing time until midnight studio. :D

Day Forty

Today it wasn't only overcast but it was also raining a little. But none the less we took the kids up the mountain to see Rootabaga! stories. It was actually a lot of fun. I don't mind walking around in the rain and the kids where even more excited about seeing the show. Luck for us the show took place in the garage behind the barn which was really small. The actors where nervous but the show was still good. On the way back down the mountain our high school assistant slipped and fell, and then a few minutes later one of our campers slipped, yay for hiking in the rain.

When we got back to the camp we got to put on the show for a few guests. Then it was time for Popsicles. I think its my favorite day of the week :) Some kids wanted to get some pictures of the whole group which I thought was really cute.

After lunch I had to make a few phone calls and then I was done. Josh is on his way and yeah.. thats about all.

Day Thirty-Nine

Although a cloudy day at the rock, still a beautiful one.
The kids where really excited today to be getting their costumes. Every few minutes they asked if we where running the show with costumes today. For once they loved their costumes! It was great. And we even got the kid who is playing King Lion to wear the Lion mask today. This thing is kinda awesome, it makes him look like an 80's rocker. This is going to be the first group of kids that I am really going to miss that wee have had in a while.

When I got back to the office Charles was off running errons, so I got a list of things to do and almost two hours to do them. I really like afternoons like that. Its a lot less stressful. I got my list almost done before he got back so that made things nice and easy when he did show up. Basically all I am doing right now is the definition of busy work, which kinds sucks but oh well, its a job and I am getting paid and I am mot working in a scene shop for 8 hours a day. Tomorrow Charles is not going to be at work at all. And its my easy day, yay Rootabaga!. And Josh will be getting here around 4. So all in all its going to be a great day.

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Day Thirty-Eight

Once again today was a day of blocking. But it went really smoothly so thats good. We worked right through when our snack break was suppose to be so we took it around 11 30. I leave at 11 40 so basically I ate a snack then left to go to lunch. Best conversation of the day by far.
Little girl: What does your bracelet say?
Me: Reea
Little Boy: Why does it say Rea?
Me: Its short for Rearcous, he is one of my friends at home.
Little Girl: Rearcous?! That's a Mexican name!!!

I love my kids this week!

Work this afternoon really just felt like a bunch of busy work. Charles really just tries to keep me there until at least 3:30 but sometimes, hell a lot of the time we just don't have enough work to keep me busy that long. I did find out that I have to go at 3pm on Friday to pick up mats from Hendersonville Elm. for one of our camps next week. I am really not all that happy about this because Josh will be here, oh well I have to go to work.

After dinner tonight we decided to go to the hooka bar. It ended up being Cindy, Teressa and I and had so much fun! It was great to have a night off lot. And to just bond and have a girls/ roommate night. And even though I now have a headache we still had a great time.

Day Thirty-Seven

Happy 4th On the 6th!

So basically we had shows on the 4th of July and so we could not celebrate it. So today was our celebration. We started at 4:30 which is also when we started drinking the mystery punch. Hamburgs and Hot Dogs where eaten and we all just sat around and talked. We where given different colored ribbons which split us up into three teams. We then precoded to play games.
SO MUCH FUN!
It was a bunch of relay races, bobbing for apples, wedding dresses out of toilet paper. All around fun.
We then ate ice cream and had a fire pit. It was a really great way to spend the evening.

Camp this morning went really smoothly as well. We have 8 kids this week and they all seem to at least want to be here which is nice. We have one girl from last week, the one who freaked out on the day of the show. Hopefully we will no have a repeat this week.Tania left to go to a memorial service for about 30 minutes so I got my first taste of how running the camp as the head teacher is going to be. Not nearly as scary as I thought it would be. Although I was very happy when Tania showed back up. I didn't really have a whole lot to do when I got back to the office that afternoon. I installed the programs for the new digital camera and uploaded the pictures. Organized some stuff in the library. Then was sent to Wal-Mart to pick up the new ipod/cd boom box that we had ordered. This proved to be a difficult task since my car keys had fallen off of my caribeaner. I luckily did find them however and by the time I got back to camp Charles had gone home so I got to leave a little bit before four.

Only 2 more days until Josh gets here. I can't wait!

Day Thirty-Six

So our internet was out last night so I will do yesterday's post today. :)

Teressa and I ended up going to Jackson Park to see the fire works on Saturday night. it was so much fun! We got there about an hour before they started so it wasn't too long to wait. Getting out of there was a bit crazy because of all the people but we made it. Once we finally did get out of there we realized that we would be getting back to the Rock right as the show was getting out which would be almost as crazy as leaving the fireworks so we got some food and went to Wal-Mart since I was going to do that Sunday anyways. I was actually social and went to a fire pit and hung out for a while when we got back. I think I like the smaller gatherings at the fire pit better.

When I got back inside I saw that I had an E-mail from my boss. I had messed up an e-mail, so I told him I would go into work on Sunday morning in fix it. It put me in a really bad mood because I keep messing up really stupid easy things at work and of course that is what he sees because he is not there when I am teaching and helping out with the kids. But I know that it will all work out and I will just have to be extra extra careful from here on out.

Besides going in to fix that e-mail I didn't do a whole lot yesterday. I ran for a mile after lunch and watched the first two episodes of Dead Like Me, which is a really funny show, before dinner. After dinner we watched the Family Stone, which basically Teressa and I spent the whole time talking about how we wanted a white Christmas and how it must be so awkward to send holidays with your boyfriend's parents. Then we made a CVS run to get Teressa some icy hot for her knee. We started to watch The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, because yes we are that cool. I didn't see much of the movie though because Josh called so I went and talked with him for a while. As I said we lost the internet last night so I tired to go to bed after I took a shower. But since it was only 11 I was A. Not tired and B. to anxious to sleep. So I watched part of He's Just Not That Into You and played solitaire until I was final tired enough to fall asleep.

So all around good weekend.

And I will do today's update tonight haha.

Day Thirty-Five

Happy Fourth of July!!
Midnight Studio was amazing last night! The host had on black body suits and then had stick figures outlined in glow sticks on them. So funny! After that I went and hung out at the fire pit for a little while.

Got to sleep in this morning :)
After lunch Teressa, Casey,Jennifer and I went to Triple Falls. We spent the next hour and a half hiking up to the water fall, hoping around on the rocks, laying out and swimming around. It was so much fun. Then Teressa and I decided to walk around down town and get some ice cream. Later we drove over to Ashville to go to the bookstore/mall. Then back to lot for a yummy burger dinner. All in all it has been a really good 4th so far. Later tonight we might be going to see fire works. :)

Day Thirty-Four

One more week of camp down.
And I am officially half way through with camp.

Morning camp was interesting to say the lest today.Jophia showed up 20 minutes late but luckily she got there before we had to call. We had to put in our high school assistant because one of the kids just could not get his blocking down and it was really important to the show. Lauren felt really bad about it but the kid wasn't all that phased by it. Neither of us had ever worked with a kid that had autism before, and even though he had high functioning autism it was still hard. We then had to hold house for 15 minutes waiting for a parent to show up b/c they where having car trouble. When we where finally able to start I went back stage to check on everyone and we had a kid who was having a stage fright attack and was hiding behind the curtain in fetal position refusing to go on stage. We tried to talk her into going on stage but she wasn't having it. This meant that I would have to go on as her part, so I went off to find a script since I didn't really know her part. By the time I found one and went back to run the lights she had decided that she did in fact want to go on. This was more than ok with me. The show went really smoothly and all the kids and parents seemed to be really happy with it.

I then had to run to get food off lot. I was at the gas station when my boss called me. It was just past one, and that was when I was suppose to be back. I was really afraid that I was going to be in trouble, but all he was doing was calling me to ask me to give someone a message. He must have known that I didn't leave until after 12 30. Thank God.

The second show ran just as smoothly as the first one. We once again had to hold house for a family. But other than that we didn't really have any big upsets. I even got to leave at 4 which was nice.

I tried to go for a run before dinner tonight. But my knee and ankle where not having it. Between the fact that I ran two miles yesterday and the fact that the weather is changing up here, they were not happy. So after a mile my ankle gave back and I had to hobble back to lot. I guess I can't run for 5 days in a row and expect my body to be happy with me.

This weekend is the first weekend I will have with someone to hang out with and I am very happy about this. Even though we will not be celebrating the 4th of July until Monday it will still be a fun weekend.

I have been reading a new book for the past week. It is called A Million Little Pieces. So far its a really good book, but I don't know if I am going to be able to bring myself to finish it. The book is about a man who ends up in rehab. Its an autobiography and is very detailed. Its more than someone disturbing most of the time. Its something that is very hard for me to read because of the people in my life that I know are lucky to be alive. And even though I know that I should look at a book like this and see that someone made it out ok, it is still hard. I guess because it makes me think of my own demons. The ones that don't want to go away. Its the same type of habits, its the same train of thought, its just a different medium and that in itself is a very scary thought. None the less I would still recommend this book to most people. I know that once I finish it I will be happy that I read it. Who knowns maybe something in there will help me or let me see things from a new perspective.

Day Thirty-Three

I am dragging today. I shouldn't be this tired but alas I am. I guess it is because I have gone to bed at one the past two nights in a row. Oh well such is life.

Last night was fun. The opening night party was a lot more relaxed than last time. It was fun to get a little dressed up and just hang out with everyone.

The kids did a lot better today in my morning camp. After leaving a little late for the show because we had to wait for one student to show up, we hiked up the mountain. The kids absolutely loved the show. It is a really cute show, and even though this is my third time seeing it, I still find amusement in it because the kids love it so much. When we got back to the education center we gave them frozen lemon aid. This is also something that I will not get tired of.

The afternoon camp was better today. We lost one kid, he decided to go home, we are not sure why but oh well. I think that the show will fun smoothly tomorrow, I'm just not sure how entertaining it is going to be.

I had a lot of work today after the camps where over today. I had to send out some e-mails, file and enter new forms, alphabetize a section of the liability waivers, and make copies of all the boarding camp kids paper work. This all meant I did not leave work until around 4:30 which is about 40 minutes later than normal.

I ran about a mile today, maybe longer I am really not sure. But I was really dizzy afterwards. But I have apples not so hopefully that will help.

One week till Josh gets here :D

Day Thirty-Two

Today has been an eventful day in the world of youtheatre.
It wasn't all that bad for my morning class. We got to be in the room where they will actually do the show on Friday today since the Day camp went up the mountain to see Lincoln. These kids need to get there act together! None of them had an desire to work on the show today, it was painful to watch run after run of it. Lauren and I thought that maybe once they got their costumes things would be better. No such luck. Most of the girls either hate the fact that they have to wear a dress or the fact that their dress is pink. But with that drama aside Issac made me laugh throughout the costume trying on processes. This little boy is five and very small. We gave him the smallest pair of pants that we could find in our costume shop. They where huge on him. He walked out of the bathroom and asked me for help. He let go of his pants to show me how big they where and they fell around his ankles. His shirt was also sallowing him whole. Then when it was time for them to put their clothes on I went into the girls bathroom to help everyone in there. Issac couldn't get his shirt unbuttoned. So he walked back to the room where Lauren was to ask for help. Only problem was he wasn't wearing any pants. So she asked him to go back and put pants on and then she would help him with his shirt. This would be the point where I heard him singing in the bathroom. So I went in there to see if he needed help and he was still just standing there in just the button down shirt and no pants.

After that fun morning it was time to go work with the Day camp. Apparently I had missed some fun this morning. Dustin couldn't hike up the mountain. He had to keep stopping then he looked like he was about to be sick so Charles took him back to the education center to call his parents. By the time they got there he was fine so he stayed for the rest of camp. I would like to point out that this kid is not over weight or sick, nor do we have any documented problems for him. Oh well. Then we had a little girl fall and scrape up her knee on the hike which caused some tears. Also our assistant this week came down with something and will not be here for the rest of the week. Which means that I am now in the play. Then we tired to give them their costumes. One girl was so upset that she has to wear a beard... she is a dwarf. It almost brought her to tears, this is not something that I have a lot of pertinents with. Luckily we got through the rest of the afternoon without any other problems. And tomorrow is a fairly easy day since we will take the kids to see Rutabaga! up the mountain.

Tonight is the opening night party for The Perfect Wedding. Its outside this time so hopefully that should be a lot of fun. I hate that I have to leave early because of work but being hung over while working with little kids just is not something that I really want to do.

On a completly unrealted note I am in love with Pandora radio. I have been listening to it pretty much non stop since I have been up here. My favorite station is my Gavin Degraw station. If you like, Gavin Degraw, Jason Mraz,Sara Bareilles you will love it, go give it a listen
